Heart Clicked

What if I clicked the heart

Under all your words at once

Would that be creepy - too abrupt

Would that be wrong of me

And then what if I read

Every poem that you wrote

Just like swallowing you whole

Now you’re part of me?

Meanwhile - What if I dreamt

And thought about you - I can’t quit

More than I’d ever admit

Would you run from me

Oh and - What if your laugh

Sounds like music to my ears

Away go all my darkest fears

Like a song to me

What if , What if your smile

Yes Your twinkling, winking gaze

Sets my whole damn heart ablaze

Just so hopelessly

Tell me - what if your heart

Is filled with me as I with you

Well I may want to hear the truth

Is that wrong of me

Nourished

Each word I ate

Like the peace and quiet

you were waiting for

Every phrase

though not all peaceful

delicious

exquisite

Every line another taste

My growling heart

satisfied

With each bite

I come alive

Each letter

A feather

One more

for my wings

Clinging to the earth

I long for the sky

Now charged fully

My mind soars high

Then after flight

I must come down

If not I drift away

( I am not a bird )

The ‘something more’

They all want from you

I do not need

You see

Your warmth from afar

Is enough for me

( When you’re too close I get hot )

Only a fool would attempt

To catch the sunlight in their hands

It is enough for me

To bask in your rays

My leaves

nourished by your smile

My flowers

blooming in your gaze

The moon of course

Is not within reach

Not always glowing fully

But each night its there

And smiling I’m aware

A cloud may pass over

It may travel far away

It is not gone for good

It will stay

It shines on another

Half way around

I still smile

Heart in flight

Feet on the ground

Yes the moon is hers

But it is mine also

It is mine also
